I got tired of all the good looking young hunks polluting the media, I'm a senior citizen and all the baby boomers are seniors now, so I write for them. To understand my characters go to http://murdernovels.com Oh and my female hero is almost sixty and a strong woman. There are characters that are younger in my stories also. He became the father/brother/leader to his little group. But also came his experience and his social influence. A younger character would not pull that off.Mari Miniatthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14826580849818642804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5294983244587919442.post-73012986087409832202010-06-28T12:16:45.383-04:002010-06-28T12:16:45.383-04:00I can certainly see the need to balance younger ch...I can certainly see the need to balance younger characters.Tony Nolandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15090583562737225942noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5294983244587919442.post-52889312005087799082010-06-28T12:09:34.969-04:002010-06-28T12:09:34.969-04:00I agree with you about using an older man as that ...I agree with you about using an older man as that all important Mentor. In my first novel, my leading man is 43-- and he absolutely would not be nearly as interesting if he were younger. His age, his experiences, make him compelling. Give him depth! And now, writing Helen, Theseus is in his forties too (and would be even older if I thought I could get away with it-- granted he's a demigod, so he ages SUPER well, but still! and forties was SUPER old in those days of yore!) and I wouldn't have him any other way.Amalia Dillinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13005039978668326144noreply@blogger.com
